We could not wait to showcase some of our friend Bibhu Mohapatra’s best dresses from the Fall 2015 Collection! On a recent sunny but blustery Sunday we dressed our gorgeous models in these black and white beauties and sent them sashaying down the street… and ohhhh the movement! Bibhu says his customer is both refined AND audacious (think Miranda Lambert!).  We see the marriage of those elements here in the fine silk materials and classic construction in combination with the sassy swing of the full skirts of these best dresses!
Perfect for mother-of-the bride for a late afternoon or early evening wedding or for office and on to dinner and a show, both the ivory silk barathea dress with onyx silk tail and the onyx crepe dress with the bird-cage print silk tail are at once ladylike and proper AND Carrie Bradshawesque!  Can’t you just picture Carrie on a blustery day just like our Francesca mimicking Marilyn Monroe over a steam vent?
Francesca and Erinn carry gorgeous Judith Lieber bags which perfectly accessorize our best dresses!  The faceted box clutch shown here in silver acrylic is classic in style but edgy with its chunky pyramid studded quartz closure while the Ritz Fizz crystal clutch bag sparkles like champagne bubbles on a background of moody graphite satin.

We are celebrating the arrival of spring with a trip to Hamilton’s in Greenwich Village where “Happiness is just around the corner”!  The black and white eyelet dress, from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2015 Collection embodies the youthful spirit of the designer’s final collection. It also recalls an elegant but simpler time when an afternoon outing to the soda fountain for an egg cream was the precursor to an evening dancing to big band sounds and twirling in the moonlight.
As seen in our vignette, this gorgeous strapless eyelet dress with its broderie anglais (whitework) and scalloped hem is youthful, sophisticated and day or night party ready all at the same time!  We’ve paired the eyelet dress here with a fabulous Dolce and Gabbana checked coat previously featured (and here). Zoey carries a black and white striped printed python clutch also previously featured on Luxe Blog.
We highly recommend this addition to your wardrobe and an evening of dancing under the stars – starting with a yummy egg creme of course!

Rather abruptly we are trading in snow and ice for spring temperatures and blooming flowers in NYC and we could not be happier!  We suggest ushering in spring in this gorgeous ensemble from Dolce and Gabbana.
The Italian designers had a love affair with all things floral for their spring/summer 2015 collection.  We adore the bright pops of color in the flowers against the practicality and versatility of the black and white coat and white pants here.
The black and white coat in a cotton vichy (gingham) check is the perfect length and weight for spring layering.  Underneath, Zoey wears a gorgeous black silk lace top and coordinating  silk cardigan both embroidered with a surprising bouquet of yellow flowers.  The pants in a white cotton pique are a must-have addition to any spring/summer wardrobe.  Finally, we accessorized the outfit with Dolce and Gabbana’s cheerful Peony print Glam Bag. The adorable crossbody bag in cotton brocade sports beautiful light gold logo hardware and a chain strap and is lined in a happy green and white gingham.
Wow, we’ve just said “spring”, “floral”, “color”, and “happy” all in one blog! Yes, spring has sprung and each classic and happy piece shown here can help brighten yours! Please contact us for shopping details on this look!
