LASER CUT FRINGE = SASSY SEPARATES

May 29th, 2015|

We are showcasing stylish separates by Bibhu Mohapatra today.  Made oh-so-special by using a laser cut technique to achieve a sassy fringe and sheer effect, these separates are anything but basic!
Luxe Blog highlighted a terrific laser cut dress by Oscar de Le Renta in the early spring. This is another approach to the laser cut. Bibhu Mohapatra started with silk chiffon and cut it for a fabulous eyelash-like allover fringe in three of the pieces shown.
On Erinn we have an “ever so slightly cropped” sleeveless top of buff laser cut chiffon over the gorgeous buff Backgammon jacquard skirt. The skirt is highlighted with black detailing at the waist and a structural black contrast “ruffle” down the length of the right side.
On Lauren we see both a shirt and skirt with the laser cut treatment. The onyx silk chiffon tuxedo shirt with its sheer back and sleeves is an incredible statement on its own. Paired as shown here with the laser cut skirt in ivory the resulting ensemble is FANTASTIC!  We love the fluttering movement of the laser cut pieces- almost as though they are winking at the world!
Erinn carries the sporty Kit Clutch from Hayward in black linen and lizard.  Great for business and pleasure, the clutch includes a detachable shoulder strap and interior slash pocket and is lined in Hopper Blue nappa leather. The models are wearing their own sunglasses and shoes.

NOT YOUR BASIC BLUE SKIRT

May 28th, 2015|

So many designers had lots of fun with fringe and yarn and the crochet/macrame look for SS2015.  We especially loved it here in this gorgeous blue skirt by Proenza Schouler.  The open crochet skirt in a yarn color they call blue/black is a surprising twist on the a-line skirt.
While the blue skirt may appear sedate from afar, up close it is anything but your basic blue skirt!  The open crochet design is a crazy sexy twist and we love the texture and movement it brings to the skirt!
We  styled the blue skirt here with Proenza Schouler’s asymmetrical knit polo in a black and white blocked pique for a daytime/work look but the sexy show of leg certainly translates to a great evening look as well.
The versatile Double Dowel Clutch by Hayward shown here in black and a great pair of black pumps will have you taking this look from the office to a night out on the town.

A LUXE LEATHER TOP FROM PROENZA SCHOULER

May 22nd, 2015|

Proenza Schouler continued their argyle theme in this standout leather top from the SS2015 collection.  Executed in luxe lamb’s leather, the top has a shallow v-neck and is pieced together with black and blue crochet stitching in a pattern reminiscent of argyle.  This leather top is truly fabulous; be sure to see the close-up above of the stitching!
We paired the white leather top here with Proenza Schouler’s panel leg pant in black wool. These pants fit like a dream due to just the right amount of  stretch in the wool suiting material.  They also have a sexy little ankle opening at the back seam. Our model Erinn loved the fit and feel of these pants so much that we worried about getting them back!
We accessorized this great leather top and pant ensemble with a fabulous Hermes Birkin bag, 35 cm, in black Togo leather with palladium hardware.  The architectural silver and green enamel earrings and cuff are from Proenza Schouler’s jewelry line.

May 20th, 2015|

We love, love love, this tulip graphic print silk spring dress from HONOR for so many special spring and summer occasions!  The easy caftan silhouette makes it a smart choice for most figures.  The slivered v-neck opening and the fabulous bell-sleeves add just the right touch of drama and sexy! Pearls follow the center seam line down the entire back of this sweet spring dress making it special enough for most any evening event.
We accessorized HONOR’S gorgeous graphic silk spring dress here with Hayward’s Double Dowel clutch in black.  This versatile bag for both day and evening is from the exciting Hayward Luxury line by Marin Hopper made here in NYC. Great bags from this line are shown in several of our recent blogs- see here and here.
The amazing wedges are Lauren’s own and are from Lanvin.  Don’t you adore the bright pop of her red nails against the shoes and graphic black and white spring dress?
Again, with its caftan shape, bell sleeves, deep v-neckline and pearl accented back seam, this simply stunning silk spring dress will be an easy dress-up solution for so many upcoming events in your schedule. Please contact us for shopping details on this look!
