Rubin Singer has long been a favorite of the principals at Luxe Axcess and we are proud to spotlight our dear friend as the first featured designer in Luxe News.

A third generation couturier, Rubin Singer was exposed early-on to refined technique and elegant design through the work of his father Alik, who designed costumes for both the Bolshoi Ballet and the Stanislavski Theater. Rubin is named for his grandfather, one of the most celebrated and sought after designers in the Soviet Union who regularly dressed Russian Royalty, Soviet political figures, and the social elite.

Raised in New York and Paris, Rubin Singer studied at Central Saint Martin’s in London before returning to New York where he worked for Oscar de la Renta and Bill Blass.  He debuted his first collection in 2007 and this year has presented Bridal, Spring, and Autumn/Winter collections.

Rubin Singer’s aesthetic, while steeped in heritage and refined from a very young age, is founded on the marriage of edgy and sophisticated, and expressed via techniques that include unique proportion and inventive approaches to draping. His ready to wear, evening, and bridal collections can be found not only in specialty stores around the world but in Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

He has proven to be a go-to designer for ready to wear, custom dresses, and gowns for our clients who desire a sophisticated, modern wardrobe. Rubin Singer works with leather and skins, as well as his own personally designed fabrics produced in Italy and France.   He designs and produces beading and embroideries that are architectural and modern and are incorporated into designs worn by Glenn Close, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys among others.

Working with his very talented couture staff, Rubin Singer designs are produced in his studio/workroom in New York City’s famed garment district.
